We seek an independent and motivated postdoctoral researcher for a newly initiated research project investigating food recalls in the food supply chain, focusing on food safety.
About the position
The project will utilize registry data to examine why food is recalled before reaching consumers and where in the food chain these recalls occur. Additionally, interviews will be conducted to explore how businesses and regulatory authorities approach food recalls.
You will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team consisting of representatives from academia, government agencies, and the private sector.
Your profile
You must have:
• Obtained a doctoral degree in a relevant field
• Ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary research environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to publish scientific work in relevant areas
• You need to be sufficient proficient in Swedish to communicate with Swedish authorities and companies
• You should have very good proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Experience in research related to food and public health is considered a merit.
• Experience working with databases and conducting interviews is considered a merit.
This position is intended for a junior researcher, and we primarily seek candidates who obtained their Ph.D. within the last three years.

HBIO is a creative and inspiring environment with a wide-range of expertise and interests. We have the essential equipment and infrastructure for a post-doc project, including equipment for molecular biology, cell culture, microbiology, safety class II laboratories and Maldi-Tof. In addition, the university has an animal hospital/veterinary clinic and a clinical chemistry laboratory.
Department of Animal Biosciences (HBIO) is part of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences and is responsible for education, research and postgraduate studies in several basic and applied scientific areas. These areas include anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, breeding and genetics, immunology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, epizootology, comparative medicine, food safety and One Health.
