Information about the departments
As a postdoc, you will participate in research at Technology Management and Economics as well as the Mathematical Sciences Departments at Chalmers. You will collaborate with leading researchers focused on sustainable freight transport management as well as on mathematical optimisation modelling and methodology. Additionally, you will engage with our local networks, such as the Urban Freight Platform, Northern Lead, and Chalmers Transport Area of Advance as well as various international networks.
Major responsibilities
While we currently enjoy rich datasets in the transport area, the potential of Big Data in this field still offers many opportunities, ranging from methodological to prescriptive research. You will conduct research on the opportunities of Big Data for freight transport by developing methods of analysis-providing insights to societies and paving the way for further research in this area.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with strong quantitative foundations who is aiming to become a consolidated researcher. You must have a doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Research, Management, Economics, or similar subjects.
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must hold a doctoral degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline (according to the current agreement with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers). Exceptions from the 3-year limit can be made for longer periods resulting from parental leave, sick leave or military service*.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. Swedish is not a requirement but Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to teaching, and to demonstrate good potential within research and education.

Contract terms
This postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment for two/three years.
