The department has over 60 employees and exhibits a highly international profile. The research covers both basic and applied aspects of mycology, microbiology and plant biology. Central themes are plant pathology and nutritional cycling in agricultural and forest ecosystems. The department belongs to two faculties and is located at BioCenter at SLU, Uppsala, with about 300 employees in plant science, plant pathology, microbiology chemistry, molecular biology and food science.
Duties:
The position is on (1) studies of hysiological processes in particular on water use in conifers of importance for their resistance to forest pathogens (2) studies of air-borne fungal spores using spore traps and DNA sequencing.
Qualifications:
A PhD in biological sciences or similar, not older than 3 years, is required. Merits are experience of tree physiological work, in particular processes related to drought stress, and work with analysing air-borne fungal flora.
