Description

The Department of Economics and Statistics is part of the School of Economics and is responsible for the statistics subject area and offers a PhD education in statistics. The PhD program follows a standard well-established structure that is common in Europe and North America. The program consists of 4 years of full time study where at least one year is entirely devoted to course work. The course curriculum includes courses in statistical inference, probability theory and other courses of relevance to the students thesis work.

The department covers all travel costs for students who participate in PhD courses at other universities. There is also the possibility to spend one semester at a university abroad. We offer supervision of high international standard within our areas of expertise and a stimulating and intellectual work environment. The PhD education is conducted in close connection with the Swedish network for graduate and postgraduate education in Statistics (GRAPES).
