We are looking for a Performance Leader Engineer to work within the engineering department for Light and Medium duty engines (0 to 8 Liters) and exhaust aftertreatment systems. As a Performance Leader engineer you are leading activities in all phases of the product life. In Early phase you are a key player in concept evaluation and selection in regards of engine performance, emissions & features; during the develoment phase you are securing that all requirements related to performance are fulfilled as well as the durability limits are respected; during product life you are supporting any maintenance activities related to your area.
You will work in cooperation with the engine application engineer who are using state of the art engine testcells, virtual engine models and machines to calibrate the engine SW. They also use premium computer programs to analyze data and create needed mathematical models.
You will be working in close cooperation with our colleagues within the Engine Systems, Product Platforms, Volvo Group and partners.
Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities:
Define/document and recommend Concepts for selection
Drive planning, follow up internal activities or with our partners
Participate in Plan and Preparation engine test cell activities and Machine tests
Analyze data
Secure delivery of optimized engine calibration parameters
Secure emissions compliance through the interface of the certification team
Solve quality issues in product maintenance
Propose and/or review and recommend new engine SW functions
Participate in Engine development projects

Qualifications:
M.Sc. in Internal Combustion engineering, Vehicle engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or Mechanics
Knowledge of internal combustion engines and exhaust after treatment systems
Experience of Engine Development, HW & SW (3 years at least)
Knowledge of engine emission legislation and the technical challenges they bring
Technical knowledge of Construction machines
Knowledge in Mathematics, Physics and Thermo dynamics
Fluent in English
German is a bonus
