We are proud product owners for components, systems as well as complete powertrains. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. The majority of our powertrain components are traditional combustion engines, after treatment systems, transmissions and axles however the importance of e-mobility components is growing every day.
We stand in front of significant challenges - where reducing transport emitted CO2 emissions is one of the biggest - and are now adapting to take this on by simplifying and empowering our organization and way of working. As an integrated part of this we have high expectations to reduce development lead-time and cost and driving innovation and employee engagement through our leaders leading technology and people.
In this position you will be part of an organization dedicated to technology as well as empowering and developing our employees. We always use customer satisfaction as the ultimate performance measurement.
The PE Sweden organization has the full responsibility for Platform Center Heavy Duty Engines, Transmission as well as Application Center Heavy Duty Europe. The organization takes the product ownership role and optimizes complete powertrain systems through usage of components tailored for each application.
In Base Engine, we develop Base Engine component and systems throughout the complete product life cycle. We drive the co-operation with other PE sites and cross-functionally to secure technical roadmaps and platform development trough CAST. We do simulations, NVH, engine design and geometrical architecture for customers within Powertrain as well as for other Volvo functions.
Responsibilities / Main tasks
As System Chief Engineer you are responsible for:
Technical roadmaps creation to secure the best QDCF for our customers
Implementation of roadmaps through strong cross-functional and global collaboration
Balancing of features between Product Systems Teams
HDEP platform development of Base Engine, in co-operation with PE Chief Engineers
Advanced Engineering roadmap and alignment with Powertrain Strategic Development
L1 Cooling System

You are holding minimum a Master degree in Engineering
You have proven leadership experience
You are well experienced in the automotive industry, in particular of forefront technology development in Base Engine area.
You have excellent interpersonal skills allowing you to easily build a network and efficient working relations
Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
