If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!
During 15 intense and exciting months, starting September 2019, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Our organization:
At the Group Trucks Operation Plant in Köping we manufacture gearboxes for trucks, heavy vehicles and marine stern drives for Volvo Penta. The 1650 employees at the site work in an industrial world class environment. The operations at the plant include machining and heat treatment of components as well as assembly of complete transmissions. The plant is "Centre of Excellence" regarding Heavy Duty Transmissions. Our responsibility is to develop and verify process concepts and solutions for global needs as well as concentrate and develop critical competences within the technology area.

The role is included in the VPS & ESS unit, which consists of a total of seven colleagues. We have competence and responsibility in the areas of VPS (Volvo production system and continuous improvements), Environment & energy, Safety and Security, and we are a support function for the entire organization in these important issues.
Main activities and responsibilities:
Together with your colleagues you will work on reducing risks in the factory and improve the physical working environment by working both operationally and strategically. You will to support and advise the organization in the area of safety culture and work environment. In your work you need to be structured and able to adapt to the situation when required. You will participate in daily work where data analysis and root cause analysis of risks and accidents are part of your responsibilities. During the program year you will also work with specific investigations and projects, where data collection, analysis, training and implementation of solutions will contribute to a stronger security culture among employees and managers.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
Engineering degree within work environment, technical or humanistic orientation
Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation
Solid English and Swedish skills
To be a communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in
Work permit for Sweden
Previous experience from manufacturing in the area of work environment and safety legislation are considered meritorious
