The role of Operations Engineer - Payment Gateway is a crucial component in Westpay's growth. As a high-growth and entrepreneurial company, there are many opportunities for internal growth and career development.
About the job
As an Operations Engineer, you are part of the team securing the continuous operation of Westpay's payment gateway. The environment is currently mainly Linux together with some Windows systems. Azure will enter the picture going forward.
Strong customer focus, problem solving ability and genuine curiosity are must-haves.
You will also actively, participate and contribute to certification and testing work within Westpay. These tasks involve areas such as PCI DSS, Card brand tests, GDPR and implementation of connections to new banks and processors.
You will:
• Make sure the systems are up and running - (System Admin).
• Perform emergency work and system monitoring.
• Stop/start services, deploy new versions, troubleshoot services etc. - (Application Administration).
• Extract transaction data from logs and databases e.g., for transaction troubleshooting - (Operations Administration).
• Handle secure keys from processors/banks - (Key custodian).
• Administrate HSM, Hardware Security Module - (Trusted officer).
• Be responsible for Database administration.
What you bring to the table:
• Extensive experience from working as Operations Engineer.
• Social skills, structured way of working and a distinct sense of order.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving ability.
• You enjoy taking responsibility and have the ability to proactively identify needs and improve processes.
• Experience from the payment industry is meritorious.
• Ability to thrive in fast moving entrepreneurial environment.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
