The vacant position is within our Strategy, Methodology & Regulatory Office unit, where we are seeking skilled candidates to enhance our team of operational risk methodology experts.
Group Operational Risk (GOR) has the responsibility of designing and maintaining the group-wide operational risk management framework. A framework which spans across all elements of operational risk management, including the key operational risk processes such as the Risk & Control Self-assessment process, QRAs, Product Approval processes and other risk assessment methodologies.
The methodology experts are responsible for continuously developing the methodologies applied in the tools used to capture and assess operational risks. A central part of the team's responsibilities is also to define and ensure consistency across risk management frameworks, by assessing how the various components fit together.
This requires the ability to think in conceptual terms, while being able to combine qualitative input with quantitative measures, to ensure that the frameworks are efficient and able to generate tangible results that are used in the active risk management in the Business.
The experts work closely with key stakeholders in order to maintain and develop group-wide risk policies and guidelines, as well as the various methodologies and taxonomies applied in the risk processes.
Depending on your qualifications and motivation we will design your position to ensure a steep learning curve where you are challenged and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Nordea operational risk management framework.
You will be part of an organisation that is undergoing a great amount of change. Your role will be to support your team in developing best practice tools and processes to take operational risk management to the next level.
The qualifications you need

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
• A relevant academic background, e.g. economics, finance, law or similar.
• Analytical skills, and ability to combine theory with practice.
• Ability to think conceptually and analytically.
• Strong integrity and capacity to work independently.
• Experience from risk management, corporate governance or internal audit is considered an asset but not a prerequisite.
• Preferably knowledge of regulatory requirements related to operational risks.
• Solid time management and execution skills.
• Excellent team-work and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, and preferably in at least one Nordic language.
• Great stakeholder communication skills.
The position will require some traveling. Work place is in Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm or Copenhagen. The position requires a permanent work permit in one of the Nordic countries.
