Key responsibilities:

The Operations Manager is member of the Automation Chapter, an organization unit within our SAFe/DevSecOps based organization in Ikano Bank Digital. The Chapter is responsible for processes, guidelines, best practice and IT support tools applied on the Ikano architectural landscape as well as Quality Assurance.

The Operational Manager acts as part of a small team as key drivers and experts for the Ops in DevOps which includes optimizing ways of working, following up issues with respective resolving squads, driving critical issues to closure and tracking improvements. The role will split its time between agile teams' backlogs and operational tasks to make sure that knowledge of the current services is maintained. In many cases the role can also act as requirement owner for enabler backlog items.

The role is also part of the Ikano Bank Second Line Support function which will sometimes not be limited to office hours due to our retailers opening hours. First line support is delivered by the Ikano Bank Service Desk while Third line support is delivered by the Agile teams.

Among other things, the team is responsible for:

• Deliver on DevSecOps tasks in one or more agile teams with focus on operations
• Coordinate and drive critical issue resolution working with multiple agile teams
• Guide and support Customer Operations, Service Desk and Agile squads in efficiently handling end to end issue resolution (Ops)
• Ensure that monitoring and alert features are implemented and improved over time for efficient incident logging, tracking and resolution.
• Assess and improve tool and process support by driving different improvement initiatives around people, process and tools
• Identify and fix common and recurring issues. Identify opportunities to optimize and automate.
• Report on various operational trends, SLA and progress

You will be working in a high intensity, creative and adaptable environment. As part of the role you will lead other resources, negotiate scope, monitor metrics and provide daily guidance.

Professional skills

• 5-10 years of experience as developer or architect preferably with cloud-based solutions and within the Financial industry to some extent
• Elaborate understanding and working experience with Incident, Change and Problem management functions
• Experience from monitoring and related tools in cloud environments
• Open-minded, should be able to adapt to working in a multi-cultural team atmosphere.
• Experience from off/near shore delivery is beneficial

Key competencies

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong leadership skills, ability to track multiple initiatives simultaneously and share insights
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, roles, and work in an agile environment
• Good technical skills and understanding of database structures and infrastructure elements on system and system integration level.
• Flexible to contribute to several initiatives/release trains in parallel, and to adapt to eco-system constraints
• Self-motivated and eager to drive improvements from start to end

Key figures

The Operational Manager is part of the Automation Chapter in the central Ikano Development organization consisting of a total of 75+ co-workers, and therefore you may be working on one or more simultaneous initiatives across the location within the bank. You will be part of a small team of Operational Managers under the guidance of a Operational Readiness Lead.

You will be expected to take an active role in driving activities to improve the customer experience of our solutions throughout the DevSecOps lifecycle E2E.
