The Infrastructure Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Occupational Safety Engineer (OS Engineer).

Description of directorate/division
The Environment, Safety & Health Division within the Infrastructure Directorate is responsible of the activities connected to safety (radiology, dosimetry, occupational safety, fire protection, emissions) for the personnel as well as the public. We are also planning for the future security protection.

Description of main responsibilities
The OS Engineer will be part of the Environment-, Safety- and Health Division as being the expert in occupational safety matters excluding radiation safety and fire safety.

Being the expert in the field of occupational safety, the role at ESS includes setting the internal requirements for the occupational safety of the future ESS facility, analyse the design of the ESS and support the existing operational activities going on today. The latter includes analyses of mechanical and electrical workshops as well as supporting the organisation working at the actual construction site.

The OS Engineer will also be responsible for contracts and reporting (if necessary) with the regulatory body of occupational safety (Arbetsmiljöverket) 

Qualifications
You have at least 10 years experience in the field of occupational safety, including performing analyses and writing guidelines. You are comfortable in organising meetings and performing presentations to a wide range of different people, e.g from regulatory authorities, internal experts or top management. You have experience of leading a team/project and are used to work independently as well as being a team member. 
It is important that you have a general understanding of Swedish legislation in the field of Occupational Safety. Your English skills are excellent and you understand Swedish. 

The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
