Industrial Launch & Program Management is a global function with responsibility to plan and lead the introduction of new car programs and production processes. Our main customers are internal and external manufacturing plants and projects that we supply with quality assured programs and projects as well as industrial strategy plans. We contribute to a profitable Volvo Car Group by leading the way to successful programs with flawless industrial launches, affordable and efficient production processes. This role is within the group Industrial Launch & Manufacturing Program Coordination and we consist of 13 employees who work closely with our organisations in Belgium and China.
As a New Model Program Engineer (NMPE) you will work in New Vehicle Programs and Model Year Changes throughout the product creation process. You take the lead in securing that a number of program and launch deliverables are performed according to plan, decided standards and working procedures in support of a successful industrial launch. You will verify and acknowledge problem areas to engender viable and profitable solutions. As NMPE you work in a cross-functional global environment within Volvo Car Group and with external suppliers, with the opportunity to create a valuable network.
In the vehicle programs you report to the New Model Launch Manager who has the overall responsibility for Industrial Launch management, as well as to the Design Project Leaders Manufacturing who has the overall responsibility for Manufacturing Program management.
Main responsibilities
• Manage, plan and report activities in Virtual and Physical verification
• Manage and plan program meetings in Industrial Launch phase
• Analyse, make prognosis and recommendations concerning issue management and audit
• Manage and co-ordinate verification, executive management reports and taskforces
Required qualifications
• B.Sc in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical
• 1 -2 years of work experience within manufacturing, purchasing or product/process development
• Technical knowledge and virtual competence
• Very good knowledge in Excel
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• Green Belt certification and knowledge in Six Sigma is meritorious

• Flexible and able to work in a hectic environment
• Ability to travel and work internationally
• Leadership and documentation skills
• High analytical skills
