Components has manufactured transformer components since the beginning of the 20th century. The business unit, which is ABB's largest manufacturer of tap-changers and IEC-bushings, is located in Ludvika and we are ABB group's center for power transmission technology. The unit also has research and development responsibility for these products and markets all over the world.

Our responsibility is to secure that complex products meet quality standards and legal requirements. Our responsibility includes maintenance, adaption and development of existing products. This includes order design, technical support and product care. We are now looking for you who would like to strengthen our teams. Our open positions are:
Mechanical Engineer- Tap Changers
As our Mechanical Engineer HVDC and Transformers applications, you will be part of the Design department for tap-changers to clients worldwide. Our main mission is to secure that our complex products meet set quality standards and legal requirements. We also manage type testing and ensure accurate documentation. You will execute mechanical testing, as well as maintaining technical documentation and contact with our suppliers.
Type Test Engineer- Tap Changers
Your main task will be to perform mechanical and electrical testing according to international norms and standards. As type test engineer you will also be responsible for maintaining technical documentation as well as have contact with our laboratories. Further, you will provide technical support to the marketing, production and purchase departments, and keep yourself updated on relevant technical developments within our business.
Electrical Engineer-Tap Changers
As an electrical engineer your main task will be to calculate and dimension tap-changers based on technical specifications and requirements. Another important part of your role will be to provide technical support to customers and suppliers in varying projects. Keeping yourself updated on relevant technical development, will also be part of your daily agenda.
Simulation Engineer-Bushings
In this role you will contribute with your problem-solving abilities and curiosity. Your main task will be to manage dielectrical and thermal simulations in COMSOL and participate as an expert at testings. Part of your responsibility will also be to evaluate tests, produce simulations and test reports, as well as develop simulation models together with the development department.
Mechanical Engineer - Bushings
As a mechanical engineer you will participate in order designs, provide technical support to our customers and work with product care. You will work in close collaboration with both production, SCM, sales and R&D to meet our customers demand and secure the competitiveness of our products in the future.
Project Manager- Bushings
In this role your main task will be to manage big and small order design or product care projects. You will have close collaboration with the development department as well as production, SCM and sales. Your tasks will also include technical support to our customers and to develop the way we drive projects.

All positions require a technical university degree with specialization in a relevant field, or equivalent experience from working with transformer design. Regardless of specialization, you need basic material and electrical knowledge, as well as knowledge of design rules and production. You should also have experience from working with COMSOL, PDM, Creo or similar programs. Combining this with experience in customer contacts, Lean production, project management and product development in high voltage products, is advantageous. As you will be part of a global business, fluency in English and Swedish is required, written and spoken alike. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
