Avalanche Studios Group and its creative division Expansive Worlds is looking for a Multiplayer / Network Programmer who will work on our newest open world / sandbox multiplayer game. We have a long history of creating some of the most immersive, playful and procedural game worlds in the industry such as Mad Max, Just Cause 4 and Rage 2. With our next Self-Published title we are bringing our strong single player experience to life in open world multiplayer environments and this is where you come in.
Together with the rest of the multiplayer team, you will work with our proprietary APEX engine's multiplayer technology to:
• Implement gameplay features with a multiplayer perspective.
• Manage designers' expectations and translate their visions into reality.
• Create tools to assist the team in debugging multiplayer.
• Optimize the bandwidth usage of the game to maintain a great, consistent user experience.
Our ideal candidate has a strong passion for multiplayer gaming and has at least one year of experience in working on multiplayer features on a shipped PC/Console title. As with most multiplayer development, a keen sense of fun gameplay and that 6th sense for what gives the perfect "feeling" are both key aspects. As you will be an important part of the development team, it is crucial that you enjoy working closely with Designers and other Programmers.

Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in the game industry
• 1+ years experience implementing multiplayer on a shipped title
• Proficiency in C++ programming
• A strong passion for multiplayer games
• A keen sense of fun gameplay
• Familiarity with animation, physics and gameplay code in general
Bonus Qualifications
• Experience from working with the platform specific services and APIs available for online presence, e.g. PSN, Xbox Live, Steam, PlayFab and Agones
