Network Control Presales provide customers insights in how ABB IT/OT solutions can solve their toughest challenges faced in the power utility control room. Our ambition is to act as our customers trusted advisors during the sales cycle.

As Presales you are engaged in sales opportunities from the initial lead, through proactive sales activities and tendering to negotiations and a closed deal. You are responsible for the design of the technical solution strategy of our offer. You base the winning solution on requirements analysis combined with a thorough understanding of customer business processes and needs. Also, you communicate ABB's unique value and create thought leadership content to position ABB as the leading provider of SCADA/EMS/DMS solutions in marketing events, user group forums etc. On a daily basis you are working closely with the Sales Managers, Proposal team, Product Management and General Management.

A deep understanding of the customers challenges require frequent customer visits throughout the EMEA region meeting a diverse range of existing and potential customers. You will gain hands-on experience of our products by conducting customer demonstrations as well as proof-of-concepts tailored to the specific sales opportunity.

You have a Master of Science in Engineering or similar, preferably in the power systems field. In addition, you have at least 5 years of experience with an electric utility and/or with a provider of advanced applications for power systems software.

A general understanding of the various methods of organizing and regulating electricity industries around the world is a must to understand the challenges faced by the utility and hence their software needs. Your previous experience vouches for your in-depth understanding of the use of advanced applications within electric utilities, preferably in the field of SCADA/EMS/DMS.

As Presales you must be capable of messaging at various levels externally as well as throughout the ABB organization. Therefore, excellent written and presentation skills are required to bring the ABB value across to customers and partners, along with the ability to handle customer objections, professionally and elegantly without losing credibility. Since you will be communicating in an international environment, you will have to be fluent in English. Knowledge of any additional languages is a further advantage.

As a person you are a team player with the ability to lead and follow as need requires. You are analytical and have the ability to make complex simple and show creativity in your approach to problem-solving. Overall you are a professional and self-motivated driver of business as well as technology. You are ready to work hands-on with all aspects of a sales opportunity based on a strong customer focus and winner instinct. Requires willingness and ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
