About us
The Electric Drive Software department at Volvo Cars is proud being one of the most successful players within SW development for Electric Vehicles. We deliver system solutions and SW functionality for the Inverters in our electrified vehicles. Our vision is to deliver the best and most innovated functions to the market and continuously evolve our Software platform.

About you
You have a passion for development of complex mechatronic systems within vehicle electrification, electronics and embedded systems. You enjoy driving engineering challenges all the way from business case and concept stage to mass production.
You have senior background within Power Electronics field and is a natural initiator that commits to deliver the Team 's deliverables with high precision on quality. You are a team player that contributes and bring out the best from your fellow team members and work actively to increase your network.

What 's in it for you
The Motor Controls team is developing the in-house Electric Motor Control Application from the bottom up, where the core functionality of the SW is to realize the requested electric machine torque in the most optimal way given the current operating conditions. Due to the SW being developed from the bottom up in an embedded environment it makes the scope of the team comparatively large as it is currently responsible for the entire chain of development: architectural structure, concept studies, development environment, functionality development, SW verification (unit test, MIL, SIL, HIL and rig/dyno), documentation and requirements review. In addition, the team is in a stage where it works closely with supplier in order to be able to merge the SW.

The team uses Simulink and code generation for application SW and direct C code for the lower level code needed to the inverter drivers and communication. The way of working includes using Git and Gerrit with short iterations between implementation and feedback from the team.
We are looking for the right person to join our development team. In this role as Developer, you will be a part of a highly agile and fast-paced team that delivers state of the art functionality. You will utilize a variety of different SW used for the different parts during the development process as well as having responsibility of all phases of the development; from design and implementation to vehicle testing and fine-tuning of the functionality.

You and your skills
* Master of Science or Bachelor of Science within Electrical, Electronics, Controls Theory, Signals & Systems or Mechatronics
* At least 10 years full time industry experience
* Embedded software development
* Expert knowledge of MATLAB Simulink for controls development.
* Experience with modern integrated development environments and debuggers
* Experience to other languages such as: python, C, C++
* Experience of calibration activities in test rigs and vehicle
* Experience in AUTOSAR structured architecture, workflow and tool chains
* SCRUM/agile development
* Advanced level in the English language and be comfortable and skilled in explaining or understanding complexed solutions.
* Driver license
