Mechanical Design Engineer

The department Electric Propulsion System Engineering is responsible for development of all major part of hybrid and electric systems. Sub-systems such as batteries, Electric Drives, Power Supplies and Chargers are some of our responsibilities.

As Mechanical Design Engineer, you have your position at EPS Mechanical Development. The group is responsible for all mechanical development including thermodynamics within the EPS department. The group develops HV batteries and all mechanical parts of the EPS system. Interaction within the whole EPS department is important as well as with other units within R&D.

Main responsibilities

• Develop 3D models with suppliers for virtual verification and for development of prototype parts for physical verification
• Review and support the development of supplier mechanical designs
• Optimise packaging of components towards surrounding environment and defining requirements on surrounding systems/components in order to make the design work as intended
• Participate in package meetings for resolution of mechanical conflicts and clearances issues
• Design parts in the mechanical interfaces such as brackets and bridging parts
• Deliver and release the 3D/2D models and drawings for manufacturing of production parts

Required qualifications

• You will need a B.Sc within Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience as a design engineer for at least 3-5 years
• Skilled in CATIA V5,
• Skills in TeamCenter Engineering (TCe) and/or visualisations programs is meritorious
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Previous work as Package Engineer or Mechanical Engineer is meritorious
• Drivers licence (category B)
