Circular IKEA is one of the roads forward to reach many more of the many people with smarter use of resources, by prolonging the life of products and materials, giving them more value within the limits of one planet.
The first step on the circular journey is to prepare our range and supply for a circular business, meaning develop our product offer according to the nine design principles and develop our supply chain for using resources smarter, with more renewable, recycled materials and minimize waste. Parallel we will explore the business opportunities that is ahead of us to better understand how we as IKEA can continue to grow and make business within the limits of one planet and staying relevant to the customer behavioural change of not wanting to be wasteful.
A Circular business has an impact on many things we do in IKEA and to be able to succeed we need to work even more together and interdependent including external partners. We also need to be able to dare to lead and move forward without all answers.
Right now we are looking for a Material Management Developer with the purpose to develop material management for Circular IKEA. This to secure compliance and enable high performing products on all aspects of Democratic Design.
This means to lead and support implementation of recycled and renewable materials in IKEA range. The role will work in the material management process with high focus on our deliverables: IKEA requirements, material register, material library and digital information and communication around materials.
The role will work closely connected to main stakeholders outside (e.g. category, M&ID, Circular supply chain team) and inside (e.g. L&S specialists, EQR matrix) of development function. The role will be included in the material management team and be a part of the Circular IKEA team
The Material Management Developer is responsible for:
• Guide and support the organization when new renewable or recycled materials should be deployed in the product range. The support will focus mainly on deliverables from the material management process, meaning technical implementation including requirement development.
• Together with the team, develop the process and way of working for renewable and recycled materials
• Coach and lead relevant stakeholders in how to handle material management in the best possible way and implement the process and decisions taken in councils. Including pre and post council work and follow up. Scope here is renewable and recycled materials.
• Secure well rolled out and implemented ways of working and interaction between all IKEA organisations and functions to secure alignment around the Circular IKEA material agenda.
