hela Sverige Blue1 is a Finnish airline which has been a part of the SAS Group since 1998. Our primary business is wet lease and charter operations, delivering operational flight services for airlines, tour operators and for other ad hoc flight needs, both long and short term.
As a wet lease airline, Blue1 focuses on delivering operational excellence and high-quality customized services. Our production platform of modern Boeing 717-200 jet aircraft enables cost-efficient operations across Europe, the Nordic countries, the Baltic states and Russia. During 2015 Blue1 will replace all Boeing 717 to Boeing 737. Blue1's nearly 200 employees are actively involved in the everyday lives of thousands of air travelers. Our aim is to provide on-time operations with a strong, customer-focused perspective.
We are now looking for a Managing Director / COO / Accountable Manager to be based in Helsinki, Finland.
The Managing Director & COO is appointed by and reports to the Board of Blue1 according to working and reporting instructions. The Managing Director & COO shall manage the daily activities of Blue1 to ensure delivery of business results as agreed with the Board.
In his/her position as Accountable Manager the Managing Director & COO shall ensure that all operational activities are carried out according to CAA requirements and established internal standards.
You are responsible for an organization which is a capacity provider for SAS, but also for other airlines and Tour Operators, mainly in the Nordics.
Responsibilities (among others):
• Has the authority to ensure that all activities can be financed and carried out in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Ensure that vital activities are planned and executed in a sound and business-like manner.
• Manage the strategy and business planning process in coordination with the Board.
• Manage the organization's reporting and internal control system.
• Maintain the requirements for a valid AOC at all times and obtain renewals of the AOC.
• Provide necessary funding, facilities, and resources for operations and maintenance activities.
• Manage safety risks and security threats to aircraft operations.
• You will be responsible for maintaining a continuous cost efficient business and also develop the organization to a more flexible cost level to secure seasonality.
Who are you?
We see that you have a bachelor of Science in Economics or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. You have functional competence according to EASA Part-ORO.GEN and Part-ORO.AOC and overall knowledge and experience of airline operations. You are a proven leader who has the ability to lead an organization and manage staff in a competitive environment. Blue1 is a service provider and it?s important that you have knowledge of logistics and how to be cost efficient in the transport industry. You will be accountable for the finances and we see that you have good financial and administrative skills and in addition, advanced skills in both spoken and written English, Finnish and/or Swedish.
