The section Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE is a part of the department Driving Dynamics and Noise & Vibration Centre within Product & Quality at Volvo Car Group. The centre has the responsibility to ensure that all dynamic attributes like Steering, Handling, Ride, Braking, Driver Assistance, Performance, Drivability, Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) and Sound Quality are supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. Within the Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE section we have the responsibility for leading and support in areas as Roadnoise, Windnoise, Operational Sound Quality, Audio performance, Informal Sound Quality, Trimbody development, Ride, Handling and Steering performance from a complete vehicle perspective in car programs and advanced engineering projects. The team works integrated in all project phases, contributing with competence, CAE and test analysis and guidelines to improve all attributes in Volvo cars.
We are now looking for a highly motivated manager for the team Vehicle Dynamics CAE. The team is responsible for CAE activities and competence within Ride, Handling and Steering areas.
Main responsibilities
• Leading and developing the Vehicle Dynamics CAE team, including the employees located at VCC sites abroad, to enable maximum staff utilization, securing prerequisites and follow up including reporting results.
• Responsible for Vehicle Dynamics CAE strategy
• Plan and manage the activities within the line organization such as operational and method development
• Ensuring implementation of methods and processes to increase quality and efficiency within Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE section and secure best practice and standardization
• Leading and follow up of the development work in all phases, mentoring and coaching the team to deliver in time to the right cost and quality
• Being an active member of the Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE section Management team
Required qualifications
• Master of Science or higher education in Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar
• Minimum seven years professional experience
• Knowledge in Ride, Handling and Steering
• Solid experience in vehicle development
• Profound CAE knowledge
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Strong in communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills
• Interested in the combination of technology, leadership & business
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Driving license B
