hela Sverige Volvo Penta Global Operations & Quality has plants in Sweden, China and the US. The Vara Plant in Sweden manufactures marine diesel engines and has approximately 210 employees. Vara is also the Distribution center for the European market.
We are looking for a leader who has the drive to inspire engagement and high performance in the organization. You possess a holistic view and have a good understanding of the production chain in a plant.
An important part of the work is to create a modern philosophy around the Quality and Environmental area, way of working, analyzing and presenting measures in order to ensure excellence. Another significant part of the position is to follow up investments from a Quality and environmental perspective and their contribution to the overall plant results.
As Quality & Environment Manager on Volvo Penta's largest production site you will be part of the local management team and participate in the future development of the plant. You will report to the Site Manager.

Main Activities and Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the work relating to quality and environment in the plant.
• Secure target setting and follow up of Quality and Environmental KPI's.
• Manage internal audits and external certifications in line with the relevant ISO standards.
• Analyze and present solutions to safeguard production when quality issues occur.
• Quality control of purchased materials.
• Setting and monitoring control and testing procedures within the plant.
• Responsibility of the management system (VGMS) at plant level.
• Follow up on investment needs and their impact on production from a Quality & Environment perspective.
• Lead and develop continuous improvement work in own department.
• Ensure the development of the Q & E administration, that it is adapted and performed in the most efficient and safest manner according to applicable rules and policies (such as FPP, VICS).
• Lead or participate in Vara local and Penta global common projects.
• Participate in relevant company forums and networks.
• Recruit and develop direct reports.
• Accountability for own personal- and leadership development.

Critical Competencies for the Position
• University/Masters Degree within the area of Mechanical Engineering, Logistics or Quality mgmt.
• Experience of production, production engineering, quality management
• Strong analytical skills

We are looking for a person who has experience from production/quality/environment management, is a team-player, curious and interested in the operations. You need to be analytical, proactive, structured and socially competent in order to succeed.
Fluency in Swedish and English languages is a must since we are operating in an international environment.
