Manager - Packaging Material Science
We are now looking for a manager to our new Packaging Material Science department. The department belongs to the new Packaging R&D and Innovation organisation and has personnel in both Sweden and Finland.
Description:
• Lead the research department Packaging Material Science for developing source efficient and sustainable packaging materials.
• The department gives recommendations to our business segments and production units on how to formulate (design) and use such materials.
• Monitor, implement or get access to state-of-the art methods and tools relevant for the present and future needs of the research area within paper physics, solid and fluid-mechanics, surface and paper chemistry.
• Support Head of R&D and Innovation in regular Packaging Project portfolio cost follow-up, budgeting and estimating return on R&D projects and investments.
• Support the creation of R&D contracts with strategic R&D partners, joint development agreements and IPR.
• Ensure external R&D mapping in the Research Area. Take part in steering groups in relevant internal and external forums.
Requirements:
• MSc or corresponding knowledge, a PhD degree in a key competence is preferable.
• At least 7 years experience in demanding R&D positions in the pulp and paper industry.
• Good knowledge of Stora Enso packaging products and their manufacturing and further down-stream processing to end-use.
• Excellent communication skills
• Good team player in international environment (cross-cultural skills)
This position will be located in Karlstad, Sweden, with a local contract.
