The department Vehicle Service Information (YS) plays a central role in this journey by providing the information, tools and systems needed to maintain, diagnose, repair and upgrade the products in a qualitative and cost-effective manner.
Do you want to be part of the advanced analytics team within the group Strategic Product Planning and Advanced Analytics? The team provides expertise within data science at YS and is responsible for accelerating the data transformation journey, and thereby helping to automate, streamline and improve the department's systems and operations.
We are looking for a self-driven Machine Learning Engineer who is passionate about fields such as big data analytics, machine learning and predictive modelling but also software engineering. You will be the driving force in operationalising our machine learning models in close cooperation with internal and external customers.
Your tasks
As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be involved in the entire development process from data collection, to modelling, testing and deployment of ML models in production. You will be responsible for maintenance and further development of what you build, as well as prototype new approaches and launching ML pilots.
You will work with teams and individuals across Scania's organisation - from R&D, Sales & Marketing, Commercial Operations to Scania's Business Units. You will also collaborate with other advanced analytics teams at Scania, as well as with our external research partners within machine learning and predictive modelling.
Your profile
Master's or greater in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering or equivalent and have at least three years of previous work experience from a similar position including hands-on experience implementing machine learning systems from design phase to production in real-world applications. In addition, knowledge and experience in the following fields are needed:
• Development of infrastructure for training, evaluation, and deploying of ML models
• Implementing and maintaining high-scale, production ML systems in Python, Scala, or similar languages. Experience with TensorFlow is also a plus.
• Cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.
• Software engineering best practises
• Agile software processes and data-driven development
As a person, you are structured, communicative, service-minded and have a proven track record of drive, and working independently and efficiently. You have experience working with a cross-functional team, including data, backend engineers, and data scientists. You master English fluently in both speaking and writing, as well as understanding Swedish.
