The Environmental Protection department is responsible for the global environmental protection issues and energy management within Volvo Cars, such as management of environmental legal requirements, permits, strategies and targets.
The Legal Counsel will be organised within the department Global Environmental Protection but will also work closely with the department Global Facility Management. Global Environmental Protection consist of technical, environmental and energy specialists as well as a senior legal counsel. The department employs 18 people with eleven of them located in Gothenburg. The department is responsible for global environmental protection and energy management within Volvo Cars, such as management of environmental legal requirements, permits, global standards, strategies and targets.
As Associate Legal counsel at Volvo Car Group, your position will primarily cover the areas of environmental permits, notifications and other environmental authority matters, real estate and lease matters as well as environmental and real estate aspects in mergers and acquisitions and purchase agreements. The position also includes monitoring and evaluating legal compliance. As a Legal Counsel within Volvo Car Group and as part of the Global Environmental Protection team, you will continuously develop your skills and have the possibility to grow as a professional within the company in a challenging and constantly changing international business environment. You will be located in our office in Gothenburg.
Main responsibilities
* Providing legal support, primarily within the areas of real estate law and environmental law
* Handling of up to medium complex matters independently and assuming the full responsibility in relevant parts of the business organisation
* Supporting more senior legal counsels in complex matters
* Providing internal legal training to the organisation and engaging in development of legal tools and templates and communication material
Required qualifications
* Master of law (Sw. Jur kand) with grades in the upper tier
* 4-5 years' of experiences in practising law, preferably at least two years in a law firm
* Fluent in English and Swedish, written and spoken
* Experience of environmental and/or real estate law
* Driver's licence
