The interior of the car is one of the most important areas to influence on customers wellbeing, satisfaction and a motivation to buy a Volvo again, and now you have the opportunity to make an impact! At Front Seat System Engineering we are responsible for delivering a great customer experience of front seat comfort, Scandinavian design, luxury and safety. We lead the development of a complete integration of the front seat into the vehicle, balanced to project requirements. Our diverse group consists of around twenty persons with different competences and backgrounds and who - in spite of different responsibilities - work as one team.
What you'll do
You will be working in one of the teams in our agile environment which recently has been set up in our group. Fast changes and proactivity are part of our daily work, and we are working with the flow according to current needs and development of the product.
You role will be a cross-functional task leader within Front Seats who is assigned to one or more projects, depending on the size of the projects. As a Lead Engineer you will lead the design and development task within a cross-functional team according to time, technology, quality and costs. You will work together with internal teams and suppliers to fulfil project deliverables and meet milestones. You will take the responsibility for mechanical and structural of complex mechanics/mechatronics product.
You and your skills
You have at least a B.Sc degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or equivalent qualifications. You are expected to have experience from the automotive industry and product development processes, combined with an excellent ability to see the complexity of the whole process and have an understanding of the system requirements. Previous experience from interior design would be beneficial.
Leadership experience is important, as well as having the integrity and knowledge to be able to lead in the right direction, with the right arguments while maintaining a constructive collaboration with external suppliers.
It would be an advantage to have TeamCenter and Volvo Product Development Process knowledge. Fluent English (written & verbal) is mandatory and having a driver's license (B) would be meritorious.
