Marine & Ports is a business unit within ABB's Industrial Automation division that assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, fast and cost efficient way. Specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes, Marine & Ports is the leading supplier of crane systems and is active worldwide.
You will be the responsible engineer for the electrical design solution in our global delivery projects of advanced automatic port systems. In this important role, you will be a key-player to enable a smooth project execution that fulfills the customer requirements. The role is reporting to Engineering Manager.

Your responsibilities
Prepare the electrical design and integration of container cranes which includes several interesting technical areas such as driveline, automation equipment as well as MV and LV switchgears.
Ensure that the project deliverables are finalized on time with right quality within the budget.
Make technical recommendations in the design, engineering, testing, installation, and commissioning phases of customer projects to ensure all actions are completed according to process requirements and standards.
Technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors and vendors.
Collaborate and network with engineering colleagues, sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines.
Identify areas for improvement and have capability to take lead in these.
Help customers resolve technical issues both remotely and on domestic and international customer sites.
Develop your leadership and communication skills by working with entry-level engineers, technicians and support teams.
Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.

Your background
A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar field. Alternatively, you could have a YH-education together with several years of work experience.
Preferably, more than 4 years of experience working as electrical design engineer in delivery projects or with products.
Experience of Engineering Base, Eplan or similar tools.
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
If you don't have experience enough to meet the requirements for a lead role, there is still a possibility to join our team as a project engineer working with electrical design with the ambition to develop both yourself and our solutions.
