Electromobility is the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in
the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure
a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility
product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within
Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified
powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). We are accountable for the lifecycle
management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, to product development and
maintenance.
The ESS section are now recruiting an Lead Mechanical CAD Engineer
You will be part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled product teams consisting of
passionate people, in an optimistic atmosphere, where joy, knowledge sharing and

your side, always providing you the help needed to manage tasks you cannot imagine today.
What will you do?
Your responsibilities will focus on the early phase of the design development of the Mechanical & Electrical interfaces, as well as the internal conceptual design of the Battery. Your main interface will be towards the GAE within several Vehicle applications and as well as other function groups within GTT. But equally important, is also to coordinated, lead and contribute to the conceptual design of the different components within the battery. This requires a very close cooperation with CAD engineers, Component engineers and System engineers. Based on you experience, you are also considered to take lead in the ESS CAD-architecture and be our key user regarding Creo, PDM-link & Windchill.
Who are you? Are we a perfect match?
We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player and leader that loves to develop Mechanical HW CAD with the customer in focus. You have a broad knowledge and experience of developing mechanical structures in Pro-E/Creo and are used to handle the PLM-systems within the Volvo group, KOLA, PDM-link & Windshield. You feel comfortable of owning and take responsibility of your team delivery and do so with great attitude.
We also believe that you have:
Master of Science in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
At least 5+ year of mechanical hardware development within automotive industry for a OEM or a supplier
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following:
KOLA and other Volvo Group Technology tools
Agile Principals and methods.
