Q-linea is now looking for a laboratory technician to support the Exploratory Research group. The posi-tion involves experimental laboratory work within microbiology and related areas.
Q-linea is a diagnostic company focused on developing and delivering solutions for healthcare providers to enable them to diagnose and treat infectious diseases in the shortest possible time. This is a chance for you to be part of a team that works to help improve the care of sepsis, a clinical syndrome that currently kills one person every 3 seconds in the world, and you will take part in finding next-generation applications and products for Q-linea.
This is a consult assignment with the duration of 6 month. For the right candidate, there is a good chance that the assignment will turn into an employment at Q-linea. JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be a part of the Exploratory Research group at Q-linea and you will independently carry out experimental and laboratory work planned by others/colleagues. Within defined areas of own professional experience, you will also plan and carry out experimental and laboratory work on a regular basis. The work within the group focuses on the early stages of product development projects but the you may from time to time work with other groups at Q-linea. Your work will focus on, but not be limited to, experimental methods for antibiotic sensitivity tests, preparation of reagents, and production of prototype test and applications thereof and other supporting activities within the group.
Other responsibilities will include:
• Responsibility for ordering activities, inventory, cleaning, prepare stock, invoicing and budgeting reports.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvements and making sure the work in the lab goes smoothly
• May involve supervision of other staff and students
Work is conducted according to a so-called agile working method and everyone shares responsibilities and tasks with each other to achieve desired results. This role reports to the Director Research
QUALIFICATIONS
To fit the role, you have a relevant degree within life science or documented matching experience. You have at least a 2 years' experience in relevant practical laboratory work and basic knowledge in microbiology and/or antibiotic sensitivity testing. Fluent written and spoken English and/or Swedish is a is a prerequisite.
It is an advantage if you have experience from the following:
• Experience in in analytical methods and quality control, including work with small sample volumes (ul range).
• Experience in working with clinical samples
• Experience from product development
• Experience from working in a Biosafety level 2 laboratory or higher
The right candidate for this position enjoys practical laboratory work and thrive in an environment where a lot of things are going on. The work sometimes involves rapid changes and it is therefore it is important that you have a positive attitude and likes to operate in a flexible environment. You are a true team player and you have no problem to from time to time work in areas outside your expertise and prior experience.
