The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate's curricula. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16. The schools language of instruction is English for all subjects. In addition, the IBO Diploma Programme is also offered through IB School South on the same campus. Thus with ISSR and IB School South our students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.
3 plats(er). This fall ISSR will need three Class assistants/After school care leaders.
This fall ISSR will need three class assistants who will work with English speaking students alongside two class teachers in a team format. The mornings will be a class assistant role assisting and support the lead teacher, but also working with small groups of students in reading or math groups and facilitating the unit of inquiry along with the classroom teacher. In the afternoons the assistant will work in the after school care program to provide an enriching environment for students between the time school ends and parents arrival.
Class assistant:
The class assistant should have experience working in a classroom environment as an assistant teacher to small children (5-11 years of age). Experience working with children and the empathy and patience to help children solve both academic and social obstacles is essential. The classes will often be broken in to small groups of which the class assistant will work actively in the classroom to plan and carry out the varied instructional levels of the classroom. A willingness and interest in planning alongside the classroom teacher is essential.
After School Care leader:
The desirable candidate should enjoy spending time with children and designing activities which can further their development-physically, socially and emotionally-after classes have ended. ISSR is looking for class assistants who have a personal hobby/skill which can contribute to the physical or creative activities of the after school program. This can include arts and crafts, swimming, theater, languages, sewing, hiking and camping, outdoor education, etc. We will be working with the Primary Years Program curriculum (www.ibo.org) so experience or interest in working with an international curriculum is also desirable.
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate will be:
• Have learned a least one foreign language
• High level of communication skills (parents, teacher team, students)
• Ability to work collaboratively in team
• native or near native fluency in English
• Highly competent with IT (Windows platform, Smartboard and other tools for learning)
Löneform: Månadslön.

Krav på arbetslivserfarenhet: Erfarenhet krävs. A qualified candidate will be:
• Experience working with children in an elementary/primary school setting
• International study or work experience
Varaktighet: Tillsvidare.
Arbetstid: Dagtid.
