Mediasmiths was founded in London in 2007 and have additional offices in Sydney, Belfast and Stockholm.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a technical consultant at Mediasmiths you will be implementing the latest media technology systems. This involves using client workshops and effective communication and listening skills to understand the client?s needs and developing these into technical specifications that will then be turned into working solutions.
Implementations will initially involve you assisting in the planning, execution and testing of media system installations on a range of platforms. Your ability to quickly pick up new technologies will be essential.
As your experience grows, you will also be expected to advise the client on improved working practices and operational strategies for the use of IT and technology in media. Guiding clients on operational strategy will involve giving them independent and objective advice on what technology solutions best suit their needs.
This can range from providing specialist support and back-up to professionals within client companies, to advising on strategic planning and operational efficiency.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
You must be able to show experience of developing solutions using at least some of the following key technologies and approaches:
• Linux, Mac OS X and Windows platforms
• Application defect detection, diagnosis and resolution
• System testing, integration testing and preferably automated testing using for example JUnit, Jenkins and Maven
• Scripting languages ? from shell script through to Perl, Python or Ruby
• Experience in a media technology environment is highly desirable, but not critical.

• Ability to deliver under pressure with accuracy, to time and with good humour!
