Scania Purchasing is responsible for purchasing of products and services to all entities of Scania around the world. The purchasing responsibility is centralized to Södertälje.

Description of the role
We offer an interesting and challenging job with a high pace in the team of electronics within the segment of Cable Harness. It is one of the most complex products with high focus from our organization and act as the nerve system of our Trucks and buses. The major changes in the harness is connected to development of our common components within Truck and bus as well as mega trends like Connectivity, Autonomous and Electrification. All closely linked to our journey towards becoming a Global Champion in the market.

In your role as a buyer you will manage the operational job as a purchaser in daily contacts with suppliers, engineer, quality and logistic functions. You will get the opportunity to work in a team of experienced purchasers, participating in the strategic purchasing work as well as negotiations. You will work in cross-functional teams in an international environment with contacts in all Europe and the rest of the world.

Work tasks

• Introduce new functionality in new or existing products in cooperation with Scania engineers and project managers
• Manage the operational purchasing work within the segment with support from strategic purchasers
• Structure and manage purchasing systems
• Ensure that payments are performed according to contracts
• Conduct supplier meetings
• Learn how to run cost rationalization projects towards given targets
• Learn how to apply price models and negotiate with suppliers to fulfill our demands
• Participate and learn how to set and implement segment strategies



Your profile
Probably you are a graduate student or have a couple of years of work experience. You manage technical question but has a great interest to convert this into commercial negotiations and thrive to learn how to do business. To succeed you need to be structured, have a good knowledge in Excel and has the interest to learn how this can be used in a commercial context. You are communicative and dare to challenge yourself, but also our us internally as well as our supply base in a positive way.

As a person you are result oriented with ability to maintain a wide contact network. You will manage many tasks in parallel and enjoy working in a team. Most of all you have a strong ambition to develop within purchasing.

You manage English verbally in writing with excellence.
