The department of Method and Process Development, Pilot Plant is responsible to introduce and to verify product changes for Volvo HD in Pilot Plant. The organization consists of Intro Operators, Intro Engineers as well as resources within functional testing and software, covering all the technical areas of the truck. Pilot plant is a global arena where the latest production engineering technology should be present. It is a place where GTO E&BM learn new technology and where we ensure that we introduce the best trucks in the world!
Description of job:
Contribute to the achievement of the GTO E&B M objectives by introducing product and process improvements by the use of cost-efficient tools and lean methods in Pilot Plant, with support to PC24 factories.
In Pilot Plant you will work in a creative atmosphere where we will create the next generation assembly concepts with the product and the process in focus. Market is changing towards new products and we need to be fast and flexible. We are looking for a person with good knowledge in the Volvo HD product as well as the production processes present in our plants. The responsibility area will be Cabtrim and you will have colleagues working within Chassie and Final Assembly and Software+Electrical. As an Intro Engineer you will be responsible for central preparation of assembly instructions, time studies as well as the development of new tools & equipment for product projects. We would like you to be positive, open-minded and have the drive to take an E2E perspective on decided activities.
You will also coordinate and lead multi-site product topics in close cooperation with Production Engineers/Local Technology Specialists as well as Technical Preparation Engineers.
You will also be involved in product projects representing Pilot Plant with a strong voice for Volvo HD.
Travelling to other sites is part of the job.

Critical competencies for the position:
• University degree or equivalent work experience in engineering
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Networking ability in a multi-cultural environment
• Communication skills
• Team player
• Technical interests in general
• Experience from production and or production engineering is meritorious
• Competence in virtual tools is meritorious
• Competence in Industry 4.0 tools is meritorious in general
• Competence in systems as SPRINT, KAP, COS/OM, KOLA is meritorious
