Become one of our 34 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.
Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.
Your role as a Trainee - Nuclear Fuel Engineer
As a nuclear fuel construction engineer you will work with:
Licensing: Review of design analyses and writing review reports
Manufacturing: Review of manufacturing documents, surveillance of manufacturing, treatment of non-conformances, review of final quality documentations, writing quality assurance reports
Fuel performance: evaluating/analyzing data and results from inspections (visual/measuring) and hot cell investigations, writing technical reports
Technical support to Nuclear power plants (NPPs) and Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management) (SKB) regarding fuel material and mechanical aspects
You will have contact with NPPs fuel engineers, fuel suppliers, engineers (process, quality, laboratory) key account managers working the fuel manufacturing, Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM), Studsvik.

As a Trainee - Nuclear Fuel Engineer you recognize yourself in the following:
Master's degree in Engineering, preferably within physics, chemistry, material, mechanical engineering
Maximum one year of working experience after graduation
Have a strong academic record - please merge grade records with your CV
Driving license
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in Swedish and English
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
A passionate and humble problem solver with good ability to analyze and break down complex issues
Driven, ambitious and result-oriented with the ability to work both in teams and independently
You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before September 2024. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.

You will be working in the department Fuel, Engineering & Projects (FE&P and the position is located in Solna in Sweden.

Selection period starts after the application period is closed with online tests followed by interviews in February/March. An assessment is also part of the recruitment process and will take place in the end of March. The recruitment process will be finalized in April. The last step will be a pre-employment screening. Starting date of the Vattenfall International Trainee Programme will be September 2nd, 2024.
