JOB DESCRIPTION
The Firmware Platform team within our Research and Development organization is responsible for the firmware platform used by all Axis network video products. Our main focus is to integrate different components into our software platform and to deliver the platform internally to Axis' organization.
As part of the team you will share a varied number of tasks with your colleagues such as:
• Troubleshooting in our Linux Firmware Platform and connected automated test suite
• Developing our daily build system
• Managing and customizing our version control tools
• Developing and maintaining our development and support tools
• Constantly work with improving our processes and scripts
• Integration work
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for an open-minded and driven software developer with a genuine interest in troubleshooting.
Suitable candidates have a Bachelor's or Master's in computer science or equivalent and good programming skills in C. Preferably you master at least one of the script languages Shell, Perl or Python and have some experience from Linux and embedded system programming.
You should like to work with problem solving and in some case be able to lead minor activities. It's important that you are able to work in a well structured way and are able to use scripting to simplify our daily work. It is an advantage if you have experience from working with and managing version control systems such as Git and CVS.
One part of the work will be integration of other platforms and components into our Firmware platform which means that you will assist projects in integrating new code into our platform. Therefore you also need to be familiar with Configuration Management tools and processes.
Since team work is a crucial part of Axis success we believe it is important that you function well in a team environment, developing through your colleagues, being able to explain your work to the team and contributing to a good and productive working environment.
Very good communication skills in English (oral/written) are required.
