We are now looking for an engineer within Applied Research for the focus area of Automated Transports. The location for the position is in Borås with the possibility to work half time in Gothenburg.

About RISE Measurement Science and Technology
RISE Measurement Science and Technology is the national center for measurement science, and we are the National Metrology Institute (NMI) in Sweden, with competence and laboratory resources within several fields where we actively coordinate with academy, industry and authorities to strengthen the competitiveness of Sweden. We are also conducting research and development in targeted multi-disciplinary fields such as Life Science, 3D and Autonomous Transports.
Autonomous Transports is an area with focus on measurement challenges within automotive applications, involving areas like positioning, large-scale geometry measurements and applied signal processing. The projects consider the field of positioning and high precision services, in a high-tech customer environment with focus on emerging technologies such as autonomous driving, active safety etc.
About the role
You will work with applied research and participate in development projects with national as well as international partners, but also application of measurement systems and methods in an industrial perspective. In this role your main tasks will consist of participating in research and development projects within the area of Automated transports, developing methods and tools within measurement science applied in an industrial context.
Your profile
You have an academic exam within relevant area; MSc within experimental physics, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar as well as good comprehension for technical matters. Experience from relevant technical industry is a merit. You have the ability to translate high level product requirements into system and sub-system level specifications and experience in software programming (MatLab and C++).
Large focus will be put on your personal qualities where a strong personal drive to develop both yourself and your area is a requirement. To succeed in the role, you should be prone to communicate and cooperate with others equal to the ability to work on your own. Furthermore, you should be able to alternate between the holistic and detailed views and quickly grasp new or adjacent areas.
The position offers large possibilities to develop professionally and to be involved in the development of new services and methods both internally and externally.
You are proficient in both Swedish and English, verbal and written.
The position is for a permanent employment and you will be based in Borås with the possibility to work half time in Gothenburg.
