JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Imaging Optics Engineer you will be part of the Imaging competence area within Core Technologies. Specifically, you will work closely with lens subcontractors and Axis engineers responsible for optics technologies today and thus strengthen our ability to develop competitive surveillance cameras.
You are a social person interested in building and driving relations with subcontractors. You must have a passion for optics and you want to understand not only lens design issues, but also how mechanical design parameters affect optical performance, both within the lens itself and in relation to the rest of the system. In addition, you are enthusiastic about sharing your knowledge with others and thus building knowledge in the organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Monitor and scout for manufacturers within optics and optomechanics.
• Assist in technical evaluation of manufacturers.
• Drive and maintain manufacturer relations.
• Assist with feedback on methods, processes and tools within the optics evaluation domain.
• Write documentation and perform internal education within the optics domain.
• Participate in technology roadmapping process.
YOURQUALIFICATIONS
We believe you have a Engineering or Technical Master’s degree or equivalent and a keen interest in optics and associated technologies. You have the ability to work very
well with others. Excellent pedagogic skill is required as well
as excellent skills in written and oral communication, both Swedish and English.
If you have experience of procurement within the optics domain it is a definite merit and knowledge of optics and/or imaging technologies in general is beneficial. Previous experience of component sourcing/operations, infrared
imaging or associated optics is also considered a merit.
THE CORE TECHNOLOGIES TEAM
The Core Technologies team is responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic areas Vision, Imaging and System. We perform technology roadmapping; execute the roadmap by developing technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies. We also act as a competence centre within Axis with regard to the core competence areas. In addition to this define test methods and standards to be used by Axis as a whole.
