About the Role

You will manage key donor relationships, support locally-led program development, and ensure high quality assurance in grant management. You will also serve as a Team Lead providing strategic direction, facilitating collaboration, and supporting team cohesion for a small humanitarian team. You will report to the Head of the Development & HUM Unit and work closely with colleagues across the organisation.

As Humanitarian Program Specialist, you will lead Plan International Sweden's humanitarian programming with a dual focus on strategic donor engagement and internal coordination. You will:

- Represent Plan International in humanitarian networks and forums in Sweden, and manage strategic relationships with key institutional donors, such as Sida, DG ECHO, and UN agencies, when relevant.

- Lead resource mobilization efforts for Plan International's humanitarian responses and ensure high quality assurance of humanitarian grants.

- Promote and support locally-led humanitarian action by strengthening the leadership and participation of local actors in Plan International Sweden-supported responses.

- Act as team lead for the humanitarian team, guiding and prioritizing the team's work and building internal capacity.

Who You AreWe are looking for someone with:

- An advanced degree in humanitarian action, social science, political science, gender, law or a related field.

- Solid experience in humanitarian response programming, ideally including work in humanitarian crises.

- Demonstrated success in mobilizing resources to support emergency response efforts.

- Demonstrated experience managing donor accounts and relationships (e.g., Sida, DG ECHO, and UN agencies).

- Strong team leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to delegate, prioritize, and support colleagues.

- Experience with proposal development, grant management and donor compliance.

- Experience working internationally and collaborating with Country Offices or local partners.

- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English (spoken and written). French or Spanish is an asset.

- Experience in Child Protection in Emergencies (CPIE) and/or Education in Emergencies is a merit.

- Strong public speaking and representation skills is a merit.

You are someone who works independently and takes initiative, while being comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment. You are structured and organized, with strong planning and follow-up skills. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you build trust easily across teams, cultures, and sectors. You bring a holistic perspective to your work, with the ability to connect strategy, operations, and people. As a leader, you are confident, supportive, and capable of guiding others with clarity and empathy. You also have the presence and professionalism to represent the organization in external forums and high-level meetings.
