Supply Partner Development (SPD) is part of Resilient Supply Network & Project Management, a global organization within Volvo Group Purchasing with holistic responsibility over the Product Project portfolio, Volume & Supplier Capacity Planning, Supply Partner Development (SPD) and Crisis and Risk Management. We deliver customer value via end-to-end product evolution ownership & resilient supply network and we enable the best Performance & Customer Success outcomes while fully coordinated with Volvo Group Technology and Volvo Group Operations and Volvo Brands within efficient governance structure. We have a data-based proactive supply network management as well as a strong reactive capability - driving industry leading performance. We use digitalization to Monitor & Develop our suppliers into Trusted Partners, leading to full transparency and proactive visibility of risks during end-to-end processes.
Supply Partner Development (SPD) team develops high performing supply partners to secure sustainable performance to serve Volvo customers.
SPD Europe being the Strategic steering line for all SPD purchasing activities within Volvo Group Purchasing, we organize a strong collaboration within SPD purchasing teams spread across different sites/regions, and we are also the operational line responsible for SPD Europe business all along specific process steps and areas.

What are your new challenges and responsibilities?
As SPD manager in charge of Electromobility, Autonomous and Electronics scope, you will lead a team of SPD engineers whose primary mission is to develop performance at supply partners, securing capacity to fulfill Volvo demand, readiness at product launch.
You will:
Ensure up-to-date knowledge of installed capacity at supply partners within your scope, and, when required, engage team members in capacity management activities
Provide team expertise to the buyers' community to identify and capture cost reduction or avoid cost increases at suppliers, using cost analysis and lean manufacturing methodology
Interface with our suppliers during production & service market phase, but also, when relevant, any time between the strategic and sourcing phase to the part phase out
For high-risk cases and carry over components, support Supplier Quality Engineers and Projects organization in securing supplier readiness prior to Start of Production
Provide team expertise in support of production to identify low performing suppliers and contain, root cause and improve the situation at supplier- this includes use of all quality tools (lean, 5S, improvement workshops, etc.)
Actively engaged with Volvo Group supply Partners and supply chains
Drive and develop supplier problem solving techniques for identified supplier fault issues
Drive supplier operational excellence and zero-defect philosophies
Travel to and represent Volvo Group Purchasing at suppliers and escalate as needed to prevent impacts at our Volvo operations
Assign work and coordinate all team activities
Recruit and manage team development
Be responsible for team operating expenses
You will be a member of the Supply Partner Development Leadership team and actively contribute to the development of the department and the SPD strategic line. You will report to the Head of Supply Partner Development.

A University degree in engineering or business management or supply chain management
Minimum 5 years of supply chain (quality and development) and/or production experience
Preferably experience from the automotive or heavy commercial truck industry in plant supplier quality, production, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, supplier development
Strong capacity planning skills/experiences
Strong cost management skills/experiences
Strong problem-solving skills/experiences
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Strong accountability and project management for tasks without close supervision
