We are looking for our Head of Solutions Sales & Applications - Off-road at Volvo Autonomous Solutions.

Who are we?

Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S) is a new entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer transport and material handling solutions never seen before. We accelerate the development, commercialization and sales of autonomous transport solutions, focusing on defined segments for the on- and off-road space. With entirely new business models and highly advanced technology we will meet and exceed expectations from customers, and contributing to a society that we want to live in. There's about 280 of us and together we form a team that is stronger than the sum of its parts - and is ready to tackle the big challenges we have ahead of us.

This is the role

As the Head of Solutions Sales & Applications - Off-road you will have the full responsibility for the development and delivery of our commercial processes for our autonomous transport solutions portfolio towards our customers within our off-road segment. The relevant segment expertise will be required within this function, and new competencies need to be added, to truly have a deep customer understanding, which is the base to deliver customer success.

With the adaption of new technologies, e.g. autonomous driving systems, we offer tailor made solutions in the light mining & material handling segment. With our Tara Transport Solution, we have been developing the world's first autonomous and electric transport application for quarries, light mining and material handling. Developing our autonomous driving system in house and in close collaboration with VCE the TA15 machine, we have a full stack solution, not seen before in the industry.

These new technologies enable, and demand the deployment of new business models, e.g. Equipment as a Service towards Transport as a Service. You will be part of defining the future solutions within the construction and material handling industry.

You will be responsible for a highly skilled team of people that lead the commercial development and solution selling activities towards the customer and tailor makes the solution according to the specific customer needs.

This function will be the main customer interface managing the customer relationship, as well as being responsible for business partnerships required to create the needed customer solutions. In this role you will be highly involved in establishing and managing long term relationships with key customers. The role includes offering segment specific strategies for V.A.S, building up needed domain and segment expertise, to fulfill our business objectives and long-term strategies.

Partnership is not just a buzz-word for us, it plays a key role in order to manage the change and transformation new technologies promise. Through partnerships we create leadership and V.A.S. is proud to have Nvidia, Aurora, Foretellix and Holcim as key partners. Managing and leveraging partnerships is an important element of this role.

You will also ensure that your function is properly resourced in all required respects and has the capacity, commitment and competence to achieve what is planned and agreed. In this role you will report to the President and Head of Volvo Autonomous Solutions and be part of the Volvo Autonomous Solutions executive management team.

Customer and technology focus is always on top of your agenda, and you have a commercial and solution-oriented mind-set. This implies to develop a clear and deep understanding of our customer value proposition. To work in close collaboration with the customer is key, as well as to collaborate effectively within our business area and with other AB Volvo units to efficiently secure the right commercial and technology management.



You hold a university degree with commercial and/or technical background and are able to demonstrate successful international and multi-cultural business experience. We strongly believe you are a truly inspiring leader who can develop and support people, who enables the business to scale and grow in order to reach full potential. We also believe you have a strong business and financial acumen, as you are tasked to leverage and scale our portfolio offering into a growing and profitable business. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken and have the ability to communicate in a clear and inspiring way.
