As our current colleague in the global sustainability team will take on a new challenge, we are looking for his successor for the role as Head of Resource Sustainability, Volvo CE. We are looking for a passionate colleague who will contribute to the next step in our sustainability journey with focus on circularity and materials. We work truly cross-functionally and you will cooperate with colleagues in all areas of the company as well as with external stakeholders, enabling the sustainability transformation. In the role of Head of Resource Sustainability, you will be in the forefront of this cultural transformation.

Our team is Volvo CE's sustainability center of competence with main purpose to develop and implement Volvo CE sustainability strategy addressing the three main pillars; Climate, Resources and People. We are the sustainability change agents and support the global organization with sustainability expertise. Our ambition is to be the cutting edge sustainability resource center with a maintained limited size of our team. This means we all have a broad sustainability knowledge and understanding with specific individual attention on certain key areas.

About the role
As Head of Resource Sustainability you are responsible for the development of the Resource pillar of the sustainability strategy. You do this in close cross-functional cooperation with colleagues within Volvo CE, other Volvo Group units and external stakeholders. You develop and continuously improve the resource sustainability road map addressing key circularity initiatives in the area of natural resources; materials, water, energy, substances of concern et c. As a key resource in the cross-functional implementation, you head-up selected cross-functional projects, Volvo CE-internal as well as external.

Collaboration and partnerships are critical for success in this role. You will participate in Volvo Group forums, such as circularity networks, and represent Volvo CE in external conferences and events. To stay in the forefront in sustainability knowledge, there's a need to establish and maintain relations with relevant external stakeholders, such as authorities, research institutes and suppliers. As a member of the global Volvo CE Sustainability team, you will continuously provide support and advise in resource sustainability matters to the broader organization, when needed.

About you
You are a truly strong, courageous and grounded team-player. You are aware of the importance of communication as a key to success and meeting facilitation and speaking opportunities, both in English and your native language, give you energy.

Key responsibilities and ideal outcome
Responsibility for the development of the Resource pillar of Volvo CE Sustainability Strategy, cross-functionally in cooperation with colleagues within Volvo CE and other Volvo Group units.
Develop and continuously improve the Resource Sustainability roadmap addressing key initiatives in driving progress in the areas of substances of concern and circularity.
Lead selected cross-functional projects, Volvo CE-internal as well as external partnership projects, as part of the Resource Sustainability road map.
Represent Volvo CE in external conferences and events.
Represent Volvo CE in relevant Volvo Group forums, such as circularity networks and similar.
Provide support and expertise in resource sustainability matters.
Maintain relations with relevant external stakeholders such as authorities, research institutes and suppliers.

Ideal experience
At least 5 years of experience from sustainability management, preferably from the resource and circularity area
Successful track record from practical work and implementation of sustainabiliy improvements in industrial environment
Demonstrated experience from change/ project management in leading role
Operational experience from production, purchasing, product development or sales - Preferred, but not required
Experience from material data management and substance management
Is used to navigate in a multicultural, international organization.
Experience from leading (preferred) or participation in global international teams
Experience of communication and performing trainings and workshops

Education
University degree in environmental science, industrial/ mechanical engineering, or other education relevant for the role.
Your personality and experience is more important than your academic education.
