Volvo Group Truck Operations in Skövde is currently undergoing its most significant transformation since the start more than 150 years ago, as we begin production of tomorrow's sustainable powertrains. Alongside this exciting shift toward new products, processes and flows, we continue to manufacture world class combustion engines. Our site in Skövde includes industrial properties, warehouses, offices and supporting functions. We are actively modernizing our facilities to meet future requirements on safety, efficiency and sustainability.
Real Estate is an integrated function within the Skövde organization, with both strategic and operational responsibility for properties and real estate assets connected to Skövde, as well as facility management. We manage and optimize the entire property lifecycle - from acquisition to divestment, for both owned and leased assets. Our current footprint is around 360 000 sqm of building area, including workshops, offices, warehouses and production facilities.
As Head of Real Estate, you will lead the Real Estate Department in Skövde and manage a team of approximately 11 professionals working with property, facility and project management. The department also manages a number of suppliers, business partners and consultants. You will be part of the Management Team within the Engineering function and report to the Director of Engineering in Skövde.
What you will do
In this role, you will be responsible for the overall direction and performance of the Real Estate function in Skövde. Your main focus will be to:
• Define, agree, communicate and execute strategies and targets for the Real Estate organization in Skövde, aligned with the Skövde site strategy and the broader Volvo Group direction.
• Recruit, lead and develop an effective team where people take pride in full end to end responsibility for their deliveries.
• Manage, lead and operate the property portfolio and facility management function in Skövde, ensuring availability, safety, cost efficiency and long term value creation.
• Deploy real estate and facility solutions in a collaborative, structured and efficient way, closely integrated with the needs of our internal stakeholders and key receivers.
• Drive excellence in execution, space utilization and modernization of our facilities to support current operations and the ongoing transformation of the Skövde site.
Who are you?
You are a result oriented and value driven leader with strong communication skills, and you have a genuine passion for developing both people and business. You balance dare and care: you dare to challenge, set clear direction and drive change, while you care by listening, involving others and building trust. To thrive and succeed in this position, you:
• Have a lot of energy and drive to develop your team and influence the organization around you in a positive way.
• Are flexible, well organized and enjoy working in a changing environment where new requirements and opportunities continuously emerge.
• Have excellent communication and networking skills, and you build strong relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
• Embrace diversity as a natural part of your leadership style and actively contribute to an inclusive culture where people feel safe to contribute and grow.
• Are a true team player who contributes to a positive team spirit and encourages cross functional collaboration.
Required knowledge and experience:
We are looking for a person with proven experience from managerial positions within the real estate area and/or heavy industry. You also bring:
• University degree in Real Estate Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a comparable combination of education, training and experience.
• Experience from leading teams and delivering results in complex, industrial or real estate intensive environments.
• A structured, analytical and tactical approach in your daily work, with the ability to translate strategy into concrete plans and actions.
• A strong passion for developing your team as well as yourself, with a clear focus on safety, quality, cost and sustainability.
• Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, spoken and written.
