Our first aircraft is the ES-19, a nineteen-passenger airliner with an operating range of 400 km. The ES-19 is a fully electric aircraft, and our goal is to have the aircraft certified for commercial operation by 2026.

Your place of work will be at our main office and hangar facility. This is located at Säve Airport in Gothenburg, Sweden. Relocation assistance can be provided. We seek experienced, skilled professionals to join our small, fast moving team developing a new electric aircraft in Sweden. We are in a very expansive phase and now is the time to join our team.

Role Overview

The Head of Manufacturing reports directly to the Head of Production Operations. This includes establishing our ways of working for the aircraft production processes & techniques, including practical and contractual matters.

You will define goals, improve technologies and resolve problems along with managers of manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering and sales. You will work with manufacturing and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into state-of-the-art strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective practices and profitable products.

You will also

-
Develop operations-related plans, budgets, policies and procedures, while delivering the revenue plan for the site or group. Along with the POA Accountable manager and quality assurance team you will help develop, implement and maintain AS9100 Processes, Key Metrics, IPC Certifications, safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility

Ensure execution of manufacturing & production objectives in a timely & cost effective manner

Drive development and implementation of operating methods and procedures to eliminate problems, improve quality and efficiency

-
Drive sustaining engineering initiatives to modify products, machines and equipment in order to improve safety, production, delivery & quality

-
Measure factory performance & create a culture of continuous improvement through Kaizen

-
Ensure the factory is optimizing performance by implementing the appropriate lean methodologies - VSM, standard work, pull systems, TPM, cellular manufacturing, 3P etc. to maximize productivity, capacity and throughput while minimizing lead time and WIP

Define and develop the Manufacturing operational strategy. Lead development of the operational excellence plan

Instill a culture of problem solving methodology throughout the product life cycle

Establish and grow a highly talented, high performance team

Manage the Order Fulfillment process to ensure On Time Delivery commitments are met

Drive and assure continuity of supply

Implement KPI's for manufacturing, production and operations utilising standard and customised metrics and analysis to demonstrate efficiency, productivity and profitability with regular business reviews

Select, lead and coach the team with the goal of meeting/exceeding goals


Qualifications

-
Excellent Communication Skills / Strong People Management skills

-
Previous experience in an Aerospace (Commercial or Defense) manufacturing environment - A minimum 8+ year's experience in a Manufacturing Operations leadership role within a factory environment. 5+ years in a Lean leadership role

-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or similar

-
Ability to influence at all levels of an organization. Demonstrated success influencing cultural change

-
Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean and Six Sigma tools

-
Excellent organizational, leadership, motivational, analytical problem solving and strategic thinking skills

-
Experience establishing and achieving performance goals and objectives for quality, cost control, manufacturing efficiency and process optimization. Previous experience in leading OpEx initiatives is preferred

-
Experience transforming manufacturing sites through implementation lean methodologies while achieving revenue targets and targeted P&L savings

-
Experience in the development and or refinement of Lean/OpEx operating system Demonstrated development and execution of a operational strategy, while providing linkages to performance of day-to-day operations

-
Successful implementation of lean management while driving the change management process across multiple locations

-
Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of the P&L and balance sheet. Significant experience in identifying key opportunities that drive financial performance for an organization

Exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates

Eagerness to work with others

Passion for aircraft and Heart's mission

The ideal candidate would have

Experience working in an aerospace start-up environment

Formal qualification in Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent

-
Experience with aircraft manufacturing programs through the entire design, development, certification and production lifecycle (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25)
