Head of legal has an overall responsibility for all legal queries across the organisation and collaborates closely with all UMC departments. The role includes giving competent legal advice based on risk assessment when it comes to contracts and data protection, simplifying decision making for managers and other staff members as well as working strategically to build the legal department.
- Commercial contract negotiations, including reviewing and drafting licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, collaboration agreements, data processing agreements, etc.
- Support the Sales department with legal advice and training in contract and data protection queries
- Managing the in-house data protection programme, including auditing and improving the current set-up and giving general advice, as well as taking responsibility for internal training
- Identifying relevant legal issues and developing appropriate strategies, for example within the area of data protection and contracts
- Give general advice on matters related to specific legal topics such as IP, GDPR, IT, employment.
- Provide legal support for policies, standard operating procedures, and templates in a pragmatic way that supports the business objectives and overall vision.

Swedish Master of Laws degree

5+ years experience as in-house legal counsel and/or corporate lawyer at a law firm

Ability to give practical legal advice that creates more efficient workflows and customer journeys

Experience of working with data protection at a strategic level

Commitment to internal and external client service, with a focus on finding solutions and building relationships

Commercial approach to problem-solving

Comfortable with taking own decisions and working autonomously

Comfortable with collaborating with different in-house departments to solve a complex legal/business case

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English (our corporate language).

We are the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, and manage the technical and operational aspects of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring since 1978.
