We install and commission our products out on site worldwide. Swisslog PTC has engineering and manufacturing centers in Boxholm, Sweden and Kunshan, China. The turnover is about 350 million, of which more than 90% are exported globally. 2013 we hit all-time high performance in terms of delivery of the number of cranes and conveyor elements. As Head of Design & Development you will be part of the management team and responsible for our design departments (mechanical, electrical and software), Standard & norm and for our development department.
YOUR MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To lead and develop employees within the department
• The overall coordination of the work and processes in relation to other functions / departments within and outside the company
• To ensure that we deliver design documents at the right time and in the right quality and in accordance with applicable standards and norms in our customer projects
• To drive the company's technology development
• That our products and processes comply with standards and norms.
You are part of the management team and represent the PTC within the Group and to the other external contacts and forums within your area of responsibility. As PTC is the largest technology center in Swisslog is a significant part of the responsibility to ensure excellence in the art and that PTC is at the forefront of technological developments in pallet handling.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND
You have an engineering degree from a college / university or have equivalent skills acquired through work experience. You should have a broad knowledge of mechanics, electrics, software and automation. To succeed in the role requires that you have years of experience in senior management positions. There is a strong advantage if you have experience leading a department with middle managers. We value even if you have experience of project-driven organizations.
It is a requirement that you have a very good knowledge of English in speaking and writing and advantage if you have knowledge of German in speech and writing.

You must have a strong commitment to technology issues and a strong drive to develop employees, processes and products. It is important that you are communicative in both speech and writing.
