The Simulation group develops and operates state-of-the-art simulation environments in software and hardware, to enable development, verification, and validation of world-class heavy-duty autonomous functionality. How you will make an impact
As Group Manager Simulations, you are responsible for leading and inspiring people as well as ensuring successful deliveries of simulation solutions. The technology area is very expansive and fast evolving.
The group consists of three agile teams, focusing on Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop and Cloud-in-the-Loop simulations. Each team has an uttermost level of expertise amongst its engineers, and we are proud to represent a broad diversity. As Group Manager your job is to coach, support and lead your direct reports, to unleash everyone's full potential. You are also on a mission to recruit new talents as we are scaling up.
Together with the teams, you are accountable for the simulation environments that allow development teams to test their integrated solution ever closer to the physical vehicle: from single-vehicle software simulation in a cutting edge, realistic 3D environment, through full fleet simulations in the cloud, and all the way to hardware simulation based on the actual production vehicle specifications.
With a strong move towards testing in a virtual environment to allow faster iterations and increase safety, by enabling a greater range of test cases than physical testing allows, your area is really at the heart of what we do here at Volvo Autonomous Solutions. You will support your team in collaboration with other development and verification teams and provide the absolute best user experience one can imagine!
You are also greatly influencing the vision and strategy of the Global Technology Area Infrastructure, being a key member of the management team. Together we find the optimal balance between existing Volvo processes and tools, and state-of-the-art solutions on the open market as well as strategic partners. Our working environment is highly international, and hence you need to be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Knowledge and experience in simulation (automotive or otherwise) and agile methodology are meritorious. However, we believe your leadership skills, potential, personality, and ability to understand new contexts quickly and efficiently are more important than having the domain skills today.
