SIPRI is an independent international institute whose core mission is to undertake research and activities on security, conflict and peace. The Grants Coordinator position
The position of Grants Coordinator is within the Operations Department. Tasks and responsibilities entail working closely with both researchers and colleagues within the Operations Department through the full project cycle, from identifying and seizing grant opportunities, through ensuring that projects are implemented in compliance with requirements, to final reporting. The Grants Coordinator also has a key role to play in institutional learning and memory.
Key responsibilities of the post include coordinating the submission of grant proposals in close collaboration with researchers, tracking applications, ensuring compliance with legal, donor-specific, and internal policy requirements, managing the grants database, engaging with donors, preparing, and monitoring budgets, documenting payments and expenditure, and preparing financial reports.
The Grants Coordinator's responsibilities also involve contributing to the development and evaluation of a new project management unit within the Operations Department. This requires developing and transferring relevant knowledge regarding working practices and templates within this new unit as well as with other parts of the Institute.
Requirements
• Candidates have a degree in a relevant field (such as Business Administration or Law).
• At least 5 years of working experience within the fields of fundraising/grant management, project management and/or controlling.
• Fluency in oral and written English is required; knowledge of Swedish is desirable.
Contract period
This is a permanent position, with a 6-month probationary period. The post is full-time and requires that the candidate is a resident in Stockholm, Sweden, when employment starts. The salary package will be negotiated individually. Starting from 1 August or as soon as possible thereafter.
