hela Sverige Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading world manufacturer of high-value-added products in stainless steel materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials and process systems.
The Raw Materials Department is a separate unit whose task is to obtain an overall view of the metal flow within SMT. The unit is responsible for Marketing and Sales of Bar, Billets and Blooms. The Raw Material unit is also responsible for purchasing and sales of raw materials, raw materials handling, metal hedging & optimisation of raw materials. We are currently looking for a Global Product Manager (GPM) with a strong interest for understanding customer needs and identifying our capability to supply value. This full time position is based in Sandviken, Sweden but the holder must be prepared to travel to all geographical regions.
Key performance areas
In the role as GPM, primary work tasks will include:
• Responsibility for the budget and profitability of the products
• Responsibility for stock management for Billet products
• Responsibility for price management for Billets & Blooms
• Maintaining a strong focus on building long-term relationships with important customers
• Creation of sales tools and general marketing tools for sales units
• Training of sales staff
• Supporting sales units to ensure that sales & marketing goals are met
• Responsibility for determining sales channels
• Responsibility for the Global Product Plan ? the product strategy
• Driving/initiating development projects within product renewal and product development
• The GPM will have one Product Specialist reporting directly to him/her
Your profile
The successful candidate should have a university degree from a relevant area and several years of documented experience from similar positions. It would be an advantage if you have experience from negotiating larger-scale contracts with foreign customers. You are an experienced, business-minded and driven sales person with good interpersonal skills and are able to cooperate with peers and co-workers with an open mind and in an unassuming manner. Experience from leadership positions is a merit. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority is desirable. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English are required.
