Position description
The group Mechanical Components is responsible for rotating parts (e.g. gears, shafts, synchronizers, bearings) and housings for all in-house transmissions, including both manual and automatic gearboxes. The group consists of more than 20 engineers with different roles, such as system engineers, component engineers and CAE engineers.
Task and responsibilities
We are looking for a global component responsible for the counter shaft brake. This is a component within the synchronization area which enables quick gear shifting. The tasks will not only be limited to this component as it will be needed to support colleagues in the synchronization team. The components that could be concerned are e.g. synchronizers, engaging sleeves and friction linings.
This includes:
• 3D modeling and drawing preparation for the components.
• Responsible for the development of the component through the life cycle from early development to maintenance phase.
• Create, follow up and participate in the design and verification plan for our components.
• Solving of quality issues.
• Participate in cost reduction activities for the components.
• Close cooperation with purchasing, our suppliers and machining factories.
• Securing a long term technical road map for the components and take lead in advanced engineering activities within this area.
Qualifications
• You have a M.Sc. degree or equivalent together with experience in the automotive industry.
• Preferably you have knowledge in powertrain engineering.
• Experience from 3D modeling and drawing preparation, preferably ProEngineer.
• Good communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Driven, structured and target oriented.
• You are a team player that also manages to perform on your own.
