hela Sverige Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
In the department for Engine Control Systems we are responsible for development of control systems for combustion engines for all powertrains in the group. An intensive technical development is ongoing to bring our already world leading engine platform to the next level of sustainable transport solutions.
A crucial part of this is the technology shift we are doing within gas exchange system. By controlling gas flow with the engine internal valves replacing external flaps a more efficient engine with further improved customer values can be achieved. We are now looking for an additional developer to rise the challenge together with us.
Your role
You will be responsible for part of the software within variable valve control where you and your supporting colleagues are the experts. Work will span the full development process, from requirements, concept development and implementation to testing and verification.
A typical week as developer consists of a variety of tasks such as
• lead development of new or improved functions and implement these in the control unit
• plan and carry out test and calibration in engine test cells and vehicles
• follow up and act on deviations from field tests
• discuss and review functions and code with colleagues in the group
Creativity, problem solving and critical thinking is highly valued as we often discuss the challenges to find solutions together and you are expected to contribute to the team deliveries.
As a supplier of engine control system in the Traton group and to external customers you will often work in cross-functional teams with international projects with contacts both within and outside Scania.
Who you are
You are a responsible and open minded team player, who takes on new challenges with curiosity and engagement. You find it easy to communicate both verbally, and in writing. With a solid technical interest, you enjoy a mix of practical testing and analytic work.
You probably have a background working within control system as a software developer, tester, or function owner; and you are now looking forward to expanding your knowledge and responsibilities.
You have a B.Sc. or M.Sc in the fields of embedded systems, mechatronics, physics or relevant work experience. However, your attitude, mindset, and personality are of equal importance.
