hela Sverige Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania's success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.
Globalisation, digitalisation and mobility are examples of trends that are affecting our business environment. We are increasing our ability to make use of our information assets and utilize new technology. New possibilities enable us to share data with each other, apply machine learning and artificial intelligence. The work environment at Scania's IT department is international and our employees represent many different nationalities and countries.
We are now looking for a passionate full stack .NET developer, preferably with frontend experience to strengthen our team within the Services Delivery IT department.
We are a team of 25 people, developing, maintaining and supporting Scania's service contracts management operations globally. Our way of working is agile and we are aiming for self-organizing teams with focus on high quality in our deliveries. Our current monolithic Contract Administration System needs to be replaced during the next couple of years and we have recently started this journey. The new Scania Contract Administration system will use React as frontend with microservices built in .Net Core, running on AWS.
Your Responsibility:
In this role, you need to have an agile mindset and a good understanding of software development.
You will be involved in all development decisions regarding the new system. These are decisions made on architecture (AWS, database, code), DevOps and test strategy. You will also be involved in the decision making of how the User Interface will work, together with UX and the customer.
The team works differently depending on the situation. In some cases the team solves problems by Mob programming and in some cases they work independently. Together with the team and product managers you have full responsibility of deliveries from each sprint.
Your Profile:
We think you are a Developer with a full stack mindset and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent. We also think you have a couple of years of experience in the field. Frontend development competence is an advantage.
We would like to see that all our applicants have:
• Good experience in C# and .Net
• Good experience in some SQL engine, preferably SQL Server or MySQL
• Good experience in using version control tools such as Git or TFS
• Some experience in DevOps tools such as GitLab, Jenkins or Octopus Deploy
• Some experience in frontend development using frameworks such as React or Angular
• Some experience of Agile development methods such as Kanban or Scrum
• Motivation to simplify and improve, share knowledge and learn from others
We would also like to see an interest in:
• Automated testing using Cypress or Selenium
We expect applicants to be curious, have excellent problem-solving skills and to have a genuine interest in personal development as system developer. To be successful in this role you will also need to have good communication skills. You are a team player, but you can also work independently. As the corporate language is English, you need to be proficient in written and spoken English.
Development Culture:
We are an agile self-organized team that employs a modern way of working. We practice mob programming when needed, and work in an open and supporting environment.
We embrace innovation and the open-source mindset. We will welcome your creativity and test your ideas and we promise a fun working environment.
Are you the perfect match to our team?
If YES, don't miss the opportunity!
We offer:
In addition to an exciting career, we offer a competitive salary and other benefits, such as a company car that you can privately lease, yearly company bonuses, a pension plan, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices and more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service, the Scania Job Express, between Stockholm and Södertälje.
In Scania, our focus is to provide our employees with a long-term career facilitated by individual personal development plans. You will have the freedom to steer your growth regardless of your ambition to become a specialist or a generalist. Our flat organizational structure and internal career opportunities are some of the unique practices that have retained our proud employees for decades, thus making us a popular employer in Sweden & Europe. We have successfully established ourselves as a leading brand in the heavy vehicle industry over the past century. With a legacy of 125 years, we look back at our achievements with pride as we work towards building a better tomorrow together with you.
